Danny Wallace, creator of 'Are you Dave Gorman?'; the Join Me 'cult', and author of 'Yes man' could hardly say no when AQA 63336 asked him to answer a few questions.

Q. Who is Danny Wallace?
A. I'm a journalist, producer and comedian who writes about, and makes programmes of, a rather silly nature. I also live in the East End, and have at least one scar to prove it.

Q. What's the meaning of life?
A. Be nice, get involved, have fun.

Q. What's your funniest joke?
A. What's 'ET' short for? He's got little legs.

Q. What's the best bargain you ever bought?
A. A kitten for a penny.

Q. Did you dream last night? What was it about?
A. Yes. I was running through gardens shouting a lot. I seemed fairly happy about it.

Q. You started your own micronation called Lovely and submitted an entry for the Eurovision Song contest. How upset were you when you were not allowed to enter?
A. Very upset. The song was an immaculate work of brilliance, entitled Stop the Mugging, Start the Hugging. It would possibly have solved all world problems.

Q. Did working with Anne Robinson on Test the Nation send shivers up your spine or is she really a pussycat?
A. She's very nice to me. But then I do bow a lot.

Q. Who is the greatest comedy genius you have worked with?
A. A soundman called Nathan. He is confused by how funny he is.

Q. You've been busy presenting Castwaway recently off the coast of New Zealand. What three luxury items would you wish to have with you if you were castaway on a desert island?
A. A curryhouse, a butler, and a pub.

Q. You helped to raise funds recently to build a new classroom for the Gatumbiro Primary in Kenya. How did you get involved in this?
A. I was bored one day and wondered how much it would cost to build a school in Africa. When I found out you could as good as do it for five grand, I thought it was almost stupid *not* to do it. So I sent a few emails out, got a few people involved, we had a bit of fun, and bingo! We created a classroom that would otherwise not have been there.
